HK Trip – Day 16 (Thursday 10 Mar)
2nd last working day for us in HK… The weather is getting better, averaging around 20+ degrees Celsius… Can walk on the streets without any windbreaker or sweater!! Hahahaha…
Nothing much was happening in the office as the checking continued…
Lunch with the staff from various Departments (Compliance, Accounts, HR, Proprietary Trading, Foreign Shares, Back Office and the GM) at a Chinese restaurant… very nice food… All of us were so full after that… A revelation today was that that Emily is a Singaporean!! We were discussing about my Shenzhen trip and that I wasn’t required to have a VISA. Apparently she had to have VISA. What a joke!
Over lunch they also mentioned something about Stanley and Ken… Sounds like some homo stuff is going on… Hahahaha… Farnie sia… Didn’t know HK people are so open-minded… But in the office?? Salah lor…
==========
After lunch, Sandra came with another shocker: Credit people would like to have lunch with us tomorrow… Suddenly we became so popular… Or maybe they’re trying to bribe us with the lunches?? Hmmm…
The afternoon, announcement came that Tung Chee Hwa has resigned as the Chief Executive of HK SAR, citing bad health as the reason. News of his resignation have been floating around for the whole week oredi. Today's announcement was simply to make it official. From my "research" with the HK people I know, all of them are glad that Tung has resigned. Apparently he had not been a good Chief Executive, with most people viewing him as a puppet to the Chinese government.
==========
After work, we went to collect our laundry for the last time in HK… Forgot to say goodbye to the shop owner and forgot to take a picture of the shop too… Sigh…
Oh ya… Willy had dinner with his grandpa and uncle (+ cousins) tonite…
==========
I went to Women’s Street for some last minute shopping… Mum wanted LV bags… Met Ken (not the one in the HK office; also not the one in the SG office) for dinner before heading to do some shopping… Told him about the LV bags and he brought me to a stall that he usually brings his SG and MY friends… Bought 2 gorgeous LV bags for HKD630… Quite okay lah… But better don’t tell mum about the price cos she only wanted something that’s S$30 or less… Hahahaha...
After shopping we went for dessert… Some interesting Japanese looking stuff… Posted some pics… Do check them out…
Ken insisted on sending me back to the hotel… We took the bus… Very fast (partly due to the fact that it was already 11:45pm)…
Came back past midnite… Willy and I started packing our luggage… Managed to squeeze in everything, with some allowance for the shoes, toiletries, etc… Chatted for a while before dozing off into dreamland at around 3am!!
