KL Day Two...
after the “nothing-to-shout-about” breakfast at the hotel, we went to Sungei Wang for our shopping...
2 hours had passed and i still did not have any shopping bag...
Jason and Sonny were enjoying themselves with their cheap buys...
James picked us up at around 12pm...
and drove us out of KL city for bak kut teh lunch...
authentic kopitiam and very nice food...
after lunch, we were supposed to continue our shopping in Mid-Valley...
but Gary called to inform us that there is a huge jam at Mid-Valley...
we detoured to One Utama instead...
found a parking space after like 15 minutes...
had coffee and tea at Delicious...
ironically, the cakes and pastries were far from delicious...
Gary shared with us some of his funny encounters with the customers who called into the call centre...
we had our massage after that...
if not for James who drove us there, we would not have been able to find the place...
Shaun decided not to go for the massage...
luckily he had Gary to keep each other company while waiting for us...
James drove us to this place called Ong Lai (literally translated to pineapple)...
had the oyster omelette, fish noodles, sweet and sour pork, vegetables, etc...
the food was quite good, although it would have been better if the place is air-conditioned...
also had the 龟苓膏 and 燕窝 (bird’s nest)... quite tasty too...
after dinner we went back hotel to freshen up before heading out for supper...
the place James wanted to bring us to was closed for the day...
settled for Baan, a Thai restaurant, instead...
William brought me here for dinner on my last trip to KL...
now they have renovated the place...
and it has lost the authentic Thai touch...
but the waiters are still quite cute... lolz...
besides beer, i had the fried banana popiahs and the mango with sticky rice...
very nice dessert...
just when we were enjoying ourselves, there was a heavy downpour...
we were stuck in the restaurant...
sought help from the restaurant owner to call cabs for us...
within 15 minutes, we were back in the hotel...
that was after paying for a RM5 surcharge for the cab due to bad weather conditions...
anything can happen in Malaysia...
cos Malaysia Boleh...
