Happy Mother's Day... Mum...

the second sunday of may is mother's day... and today... 8 may... is mother's day...

juz like chistmas day and valentine's day, mother's day has become an opportunity for retailers to cash in on the kids, sons and daughters to show their love for their mums... but somehow things have changed...

10 years ago, it was simply a stalk of carnation or a mother's day card or maybe a small gift...

but turning the papers over the last couple of weeks had made me realised that mother's day gifts nowadays have progressed to more "high-class" and more expensive stuff:

spa treatment, facials, slimming programmes, jewellery, diamonds, meals in expensive restaurants at exhorbitant prices specially for that day and even holiday packages... is that wat they call infation??? i wonder...

anyway, wished mum a happy mother's day this morning and at the same time confessed to her that i didn't get any gifts for her... she said that there's no necessity to get anything at all...
