Madonna's "Hung Up" (Warner Bros.) became her 11th U.K. No. 1 single yesterday (Nov. 13), and first for five years. Meanwhile, classical crossover act Il Divo went straight to the top of the album chart with its sophomore set "Ancora" (Syco Music/Sony BMG).

Madonna's new hit, the first single from the album "Confessions on a Dance Floor," extends her span of U.K. best-sellers to 20 years. "Into the Groove" was the first of six best-sellers during the 1980s; two more came in the 1990s ("Vogue" in 1990 and "Frozen" in 1998) and she entered the new century with consecutive No. 1s in 2000, "American Pie" and "Music." "Hung Up" represents her 622nd week on the British singles chart.
