Getai...

i knew i was supposed to study for my Capital Markets & Financial Advisory Services (CMFAS) Module 5 (M5)...
but the music from the getai downstairs was overwhelmingly tempting...
i stood watching the performance from 9pm to 10:40pm...
mostly the older folks...
with a few younger couples...
and two guys taking pictures with their tripods and cameras...

getai brought back a lot of childhood memories...
where my neighbours and my brothers were crazy over getai...
we will even go ask the singers (whoever they were) for their autographs...
7th month was a fun month to us kids...
especially when they used to have huge candles and joss-sticks...
which were banned in recent years due to fire hazard...

wonder how long more will getai lasts??
this year could be a good year for them partly contributed by the publicity created by the movie "881"...
it would be truly sad to see another tradition / culture disappears...
