Another Weekend...

had our departmental dinner today at Centre Stage, Marina Square... it's been a few months since Centre Stage started serving customers but somehow the crowd is still not there... probably not enough publicity and coupled with the endless renovation surrounding it...

wanted to have dinner at 6 & 7, a favourite of mine for the nice deco and ambience... however, the waitress told us that they were not serving any set dinners tonight because they were "out of stock"... a shocker to me! took the entire entourage of nine and moved to Victor's... great dinner... value-for-money... only problem i had was the deco... the national day decoration was totally out of place... small triangular flags were hung on the ceilings much to the effect of a community centre... low class sia... hehe...

met kerry at Plaza Singapura for Seven Swords... a great show although it was a little too long... couldn't recognise Yang Caini cos she was totally tanned and dark...

simple story about an Imperial decree to eliminate all those who learn martial arts... the good versus the bad... and of course, as in any "feel-good" wuxia pian, the good prevailed... after much action-packed kongfu fighting... Seven Swords were indeed seven highly-skilled wulin gao shou... each with his / her own sword and fighting style...

one thing that i liked about the show was the funny dialogues throughout the movie... kept me going...

had dinner at Tea Cosy after the movie... interesting place cos it was also a lifestyle shop selling all kinds of "old" and very peranakan-styled furniture and decorations... the food was good too...

it was Lik Kiam's housewarming this afternoon... Waterina @ Geylang... heard the place cost him about $800,000... OMG... don't think i will ever spend so much for a private apartment... i'm easily satisfied with a 4-room HDB flat... will write about buying properties in my next blog...

good to see people like Wendy and Vincent... too bad didn't spend much time catching up cos i was late... hehe...

after that it was home for a much-needed sleep after yet another weekend...
