HBOT #14

time flies... it's been more than a month since i lost my hearing on my left ear... and it's also been more than 2 weeks since i started on Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy... and today was the second last treatment... after last Friday's hearing test with positive and promising results, i've decided to stop HBOT once i complete my 15 treatment... the main reason being the high cost involved... at $260 per treatment (of which i have to fork out cash of $160), i can hardly afford any further treatment...

the nurse vivien asked what music i will be bringing for the grand finale tomorrow... i replied that i have not decided... considering the fact that there's another indian elderly man in the same chamber as us, it would be polite to bring something sentimental and not techno, trance nor dance....

after treatment, met kerry for Mysterious Skin, an arthouse movie about child sexual abuse, paedophilia and homosexuality... at the end of the movie, i still cant relate alien abduction with sexual abuse... probably as a kid, we try to forget the unpleasant things and replace them with something less probable and yet cannot be explained... however the blockade of such processing of information by the brain (whether consciously or unconsciously) only led to more pain in the future...

the advocacy of safe sex was done in a subtle yet not in the face manner which was applaudable... and whether one would become gay simply because of past sexual abuse by someone of the same sex when one was younger is debatable... there could be a certain level of correlation...

and the decision by the male lead (who previously acted in 3rd Rock From The Sun) to make full use of his good looks and body by hustling is also questionable... do all abused children degrade themselves into prostitution? or could they have possibly led normal lives like everyone else (i.e. get themselves a 9-to-5 job, etc)...

and who can forget the music soundtrack... it was so cocteau twins... hehe...

after the movie, kerry was complaining about his hunger... he only had fruits and yoghurt for dinner... of course hungry lah... went to Maestro Bistro... and pleasantly surprise to bump into Mice and Danial... invited them to join us... chatted for a while before leaving for home... nice to see Mice again (after last Thursday's dinner at Magic Wok, Hougang Mall)...
