Movie Night...
the gang gathered at Kenneth’s place for movie night...
DVDs he bought from his recent Hong Kong trip...
wanted to eat at the hawker centre next to Bedok Interchange...
but it was packed, stuffy and hot...
decided to pack dinner back to Kenneth’s place...
we had satay, char kway teow, Hokkien prawn noodles, fried carrot cake, mutton soup and chwee kuay...
such a pleasure...
the first movie of the night was some China movie titled Men & Women (男男女女)...
total crap and we fast-forwarded most of it...
then we watched The King...
directed by James Marsh, starring William Hurt and the cute Gael Garcia Bernal (whose name in the show was Elvis)...
a disturbing show about revenge (and religion)...
while James was busy preparing his cocktails / mixers...
Shaun & i were busy finishing up the chwee kuay...
the last movie (or part of it) we saw was Eros...
the part directed by Wong Kar Wai and starring Gong Li and Chang Chen...
touching movie... not quite as romantic as we expected...
maybe next time we should have a theme for our movie night...
like Meryl Streep night or Heath Ledger specials...
or maybe by year of release...
or even by genres (comedies, black & white, romance, etc)...
that would be fun...
had two glasses of red wine and i was tipsy by then...
i have to improve on my drinking skills...
