thanx to all for your concern and well wishes...
bless you all too...

Back Ache Continues...

woke up this morning with the back still hurting... decided to take the day off to rest at home... gotta finish the medications from the Chinese sinseh...

28 August 2006

Back Ache...

hurt my lower back while getting up from the floor at home yesterday late afternoon... despite that, i went out to meet a friend for dinner...

came home and mum helped to apply some ointment to the affected area...

this morning, the pain was still there... i couldn't even bend (no pun intended)... going to the toilet is a pain (in the back)... mum brought me to see a Chinese sinseh at AMK... did acupuncture and tui-na... was given some medication too... the sinseh wrote "right hip joint injury" on the medical certificate... not sure if the company is gonna recognise the MC...

was sleeping the whole day to rest... except when Jasen came to deliver the moon cakes i ordered... burnt a 4.7G DVD of mp3s for him... chatted quite a bit before he left to meet his friend for movie...

uncle came with his NTUC Income proposal for a life insurance plan... hope everything goes well... no loading and stuff... hahahaha...

Hero...

was watching Hero, after coming home from dinner with Winston and catching the first set of performance by RJ Rosales @ The Esplanade... i liked the movie when i first saw it on the big screen a few years back... and still loved it when i saw it on DVD after that... and i still loved it when i saw it on TV on tonight...

the movie is beautifully filmed... the use of the different colours scheme... the martial arts moves were sleek... and a huge cast of Maggie Cheung, Tony Leong, Jet Li and Ziyi "i-am-getting-more-lovable-with-every-new-movie-i-am-in" Zhang... simple story about love for one's country... how many Singaporeans can feel the same way??

was tempted to buy the soundtrack after watching it last night... reminded me of Grouchy Tiger, Hideous Dragon (aka Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon)...

anyone has both the soundtrack that i can borrow??

End Of 7th Month...

yesterday ended the 7th month with a 4D consolation prize... my birthday, 1130... hahahaha...

Pam Oei Rocks...

Pam Oei may have a petite frame... but this girl is gifted with a huge voice... her performance yesterday at Happy was nothing but fun, hilarious and melodious...

some memorable pieces she did included:
1. Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody (tribute to Ivan Heng for his use of Queen's music in the play, The Campaign to Confer the Public Service Star on JBJ, which was part of the recent Singapore Theatre Festival)
2. Nat King Cole's Unforgettable (where she changed the lyrics to Face-Forgettable, in response to Dr KK Seet's comments that she has a forgettable face on Monday's ST Life!)
3. Karyn White's Superwoman (using her Indian accent)
4. New Order's Bizarre Love Triangle (with the audience singing with her)
5. Singapura
6. Olivia Newton-John's Hopelessly Devoted To You...

most of the audience stayed for the second set although it ended pretty late, at around 12:45am...

in conclusion, Pam Oei Rocks!!

Thursday...

just realised that i was born on a Thursday... time to fill my life with purple (the colour of the sexually-deprived)...
and here's what it all means:

Thursday is ruled by the mighty planet JUPITER. It is indeed a blessing to be born on a Jupiter-ruled day, because this planet is the bringer of joy, abundance, optimism, expansion, success, and good fortune.

You will go through certain periods in your life when your sense of freedom and independence will be of paramount importance. During these times you will not allow yourself to be restricted, tied down or controlled by anyone or anything.

You are broad minded, honest and generous in many ways, so you cannot tolerate people who are mean, petty, narrow-minded, bigoted or dishonest. Purple is Jupiter's colour, so you should use a touch of it in jewellery, clothes, accessories, and decor, to attract success and good fortune.

Hungry Ghost...

Bodypump...

did Bodypump at Raffles Place Cali... i simply adore Wai Han... she's so fun and so pretty...

increased my weights from 3.5kg to 5kg for the leg segment... and from 2.5kg to 3.5kg for the others... barely surviving... saw this guy carrying 20kg on each side for the leg segment... impressive...

Standard Chartered Marathon 2006

do not what's wrong with me... but i just signed up for the 21km run at the Standard Chartered Marathon 2006... was feeling a little lost when i realised that i am not running in the Army Half Marathon this Sunday...

Leaving?

cleaning auntie: 还没有回啊??
me: 要走了。。。
cleaning auntie: 不可以说“走了”。。。 说“要回了”。。。
me: lolz...

Comparison...

do not compare me with someone else... we are all different... how easy it would be if all of us are the same... but then, how exciting is that?

Rally... Really??

well... it's less than four months after the General Elections and he's delivering his National Day Rally speech... as expected, after GE, no goodies... compare that to last year, pre-GE year...

politics... with a capital "P"...

oh ya... he said we need to attract more "whoreign talents"... where do Singaporeans stand then?? well, Singaporeans become the "foreign talents" of other countries then...

Lazy Sunday... Hurt My Big Toe...

last night reached home after clubbing and SMSed Kenneth that gym was cancelled... i was too tired for anything that physical... not even a hunk can wake me up from my sleep...

the whole Sunday was spent lazing at home... woke up at 11am... had breakfast... surfed the net a little... chatted on MSN a little... went back to sleep from 3pm to 4+pm...

woke up... had a slice of cake as lunch... dilly dally... decided to give the National Day Rally a miss... i was never patriotic to begin with... at 7:30pm, went for a run at Punggol Park... completed 8km in 48 minutes... far from my past records... time to buck up... hurt my big toe during the run... dunno how it happened also...

headed to NTUC Hougang Mall for grocery shopping... bought bread, cheese and ham for lunch tomorrow... boy, Hougang Mall has changed considerably... it's been a while since i last visited it... hehe...

it's been a wonderful weekend... let's hope for the best in the coming week...

What A Saturday!!

Saturday (19 August 2006)

met my colleague at Bugis Cali for a demo on how to use the machines... it's been more than 3 months since i joined, yet i've never used the machines before... hahahaha... so many different types of machines for different muscle groups... confusing... but it was a good introductory tour... anyone here wish to help this blur gymmer-in-the-making... please make some noise... thanx in advance!!

rushed to Cineleisure K-Box for K-lunch... it's only S$8.75 per pax... cheap cheap... but they changed the chicken lunch menu... no more fried chicken... instead it's teriyaki chicken... and no more fruits... instead it was pre-packed jelly... yucks!! the staff requested for our feedback... and i gave them my most honest feedback about the bad food and dessert... of course took the chance to inform them the air-con is forever so chilly cold lor...

shopped a little at HMV with Kerry... bought The Last Emperor and Stacie Oricco's DVD... sale mah...

headed home for tuition from 4pm to 7pm... prelims are coming and my student still has not memorised all the formulaes... how to pass like that... ticked him off...

after tuition, showered and got into my new bods shirt, getting ready for brother's birthday dinner at M Hotel... it's steamboat buffet... nice food...

13 August 2006

Busy Sunday...

Saturday was spent tutoring my kid, sleeping and jogging @ Punggol Park... did 8km in 50 minutes... not too bad considering it's my second time running anything more than 5km in months...

went to Sengkang Library to borrow The Mistress Of Spices... finally i managed to get hold of the book... MPH was out of stock for weeks... unbelievable...

didn't go for the Library Book Sale @ the Expo and didn't catch the fireworks display by the France team... simply too lazy to travel to get myself caught in the human jam...

gonna be an incredibly busy Sunday...

11:00am - yoga @ Cali Orchard...

01:00pm - lunch @ Raffles City to celebrate Johnny's birthday...

03:00pm - Singapore Theatre Festival - National Language Class / Utama @ Drama Centre Blackbox... this is my third play at the Singapore Theatre Festival, after watching Homesick and The Campaign To Confer The Public Service Star On JBJ... another play, Second Link, on coming Thursday... it's been a great Festival so far...

Bigger, Better, Broader...

first, a colleague commented that my shoulders are broader now... since i've started gymming...

second, a secondary school classmate commented that i'm bulkier during our gathering last Sunday... he's surprised that 3 months of gymming could produce such results...

third, one of my Directors commented that i've "put on weight"... told him i've been going to the gym, to which he replied "no wonder"...

i love gymming... more regular gymming from now on... yeah yeah yeah yeah....

What A Weekend!!

it's been a while since my last update... lazy bum...

last Friday was home to play mahjong with my aunts (who came for my grandfather's death anniversary)... felt like one of them tai-tai... played from 2:30pm until 12am, with a dinner break in between... won S$40... nice!

Saturday morning was K-Lunch with Kerry and his friend... then went for Bodycombat at Cali Orchard... they ran out of towels... darn!! waited for like an hour!! gosh!!

headed home for a power nap before going clubbing with Kerry and gang... overdoes on alcohol again... vomitted... was having such a bad headache when i reached home that i went to sleep without showering... dirty fella, i know...

woke up with a hangover... couldn't go for yoga in the morning... apologised to David for the no-show and being such an ass... was home resting until the evening... celebrated Steve's birthday at Sun With Moon... nice to catch up with him after so long... the last time we met was during Chinese New Year...
