my trip to KL has become an annual pilgrimage...
very much similar to the Muslims heading for their Mecca... hahahaha...
this year took the coach from NiCE...
indeed very nice...
got my own TV screen, very much like on the plane...
unfortunately, the movies they played were simply sucky...
had my ipod nano playing Michael Buble throughout the journey...
William picked me up at the KTM railway station where the coach stopped...
headed straight for roti canai (aka roti prata in Singapore lingo)...
then it was off to his place for a rest...
surprised him with the Anthropology double happiness burner...
woke up at around 10am and off we went for our shopping escapade...
brunch at one HK cafe in Bangsar Village...
checked out Bangsar Village II before heading to One Utama...
did some shopping before having tea at Ms Read cafe...
more shopping back at Bangsar Village II...
checked into the hotel at close to 9pm...
showered and had Thai dinner...
had a jug of beer at the pub next door...
Genting day trip was cancelled because William overslept...
breakfast at Kim Gary...
bought a pre-paid card too... roaming service is way too expensive...
i am not going to pay S$0.60 for an SMS...
was shopping in Sungei Wang, Lot 10, Pavillion...
Pavillion is one of the two new malls opened recently...
very mega indeed... and super spacious...
how i wish our Vivocity is like it...
didn't buy much stuff though...
was dead tired by the time i walked the entire Pavillion...
Monday morning met Kenny at Mid-valley mega mall...
got the World Of Feng Shui (WOFS) calendar Kenneth wanted...
and bought two polo T-shirts from WOFS...
went to the other new mall, Gardens, next to Mid-Valley...
there's a Robinsons in it...
a number of new eateries at the basement...
had lunch at Din Tai Fung... not that cheap by KL standard...
food was better than the Singapore branches...
William rested in the hotel while Kenny and i continued shopping in Bukit Bintang Plaza...
bought many more T-shirts from the shop Kenny brought me to the last time...
somehow i couldn't find it on my own yesterday...
Johnny came to pick Kenny up while i headed back to the hotel for a quick nap...
managed to persuade William to have dinner at Jalan Alor...
ordered fruit rojak, BBQ chicken wings, oyster omelette and satay...
had my usual green apple juice...
cheap and good...
went back to the hotel for some red wine while watching the activities downstairs...
left for the countdown in Bukit Bintang...
a short drizzle came just before midnight...
countdown at Pavillion... met Stanley and friends...
the fireworks at KLCC was visible from where we were...
a total of 8 minutes of spectacular display...
had wan ton noodle for supper in Jalan Alor again...
the pork was sweet...
Johnny and Kenny came to pick me up at the hotel...
lunch was at some Malay-dominated area...
chicken rice at the food court...
a memorable place for Johnny cos he used to eat there when he was auditing his client in that area...
on the way saw a funeral in progress...
did a quick walkabout in Sogo department store...
we drove to Chinatown...
did a quick tour of the place...
the Chinese New Year decorations were already on sale...
Johnny drove us to a restaurant near his place for dinner...
delicious and cheap...
had curry fish, steamed la la, mixed seafood and vegetables...
William met us after that for dessert (which was red bean soup) at another restaurant in Sungei Wang...
bided my goodbyes to Johnny and Kenny...
continued eating with William at a cafe...
left the place around 10:30pm and William drove me back to the hotel...
said our goodbyes and thanked him for all the arrangements...
packed my luggage...
managed to squeeze everything into it...
including my Yoshi soft toy...
woke up at 10am...
breakfast at Kim Gary Sungei Wang...
more shopping at Romp...
bought four T-shirts and a bag...
had difficulty stuffing them into the luggage...
no choice had to put Yoshi in my backpack instead...
hahahaha...
took a cab to the KTM old railway station for the coach back to Singapore...
taxi driver told me there were altogether 8 countdowns on New Year's Eve...
didn't know KL is so happening...
left KL at 3pm sharp...
and reached home at 8:30pm...
glad to be home...
blessed to have great friends like William, Kenny and Johnny...
and more blessed to be able to visit KL at least once a year...
Happy New Year everyone!!
May 2008 be a year of good health, abundant opportunities and great friendships!!
